Funding for youth
What mobility activities are possible?

There are three types of learning mobility activities for youth: youth exchanges; European Voluntary Service (EVS); and training/networking for youth workers. One or more activities can be combined into a mobility project, an informal group of young people working in partnership with one or more organisations from the Erasmus+ participating countries.
Overall, projects last from between one to two years. For young people this could mean up to a year abroad as a volunteer, while for youth workers it could be as little as two days abroad on training.

Youth exchanges

Youth exchanges allow groups of young people (aged 13 to 30) from different countries to meet and live together for up to 21 days. During a youth exchange, participants work together on a chosen topic through a mix of workshops, exercises, debates, role-plays, simulations, outdoor activities etc. designed and prepared by them before the exchange.

European Solidarity Corps

The European Solidarity Corps is the new European Union initiative which creates opportunities for young people to volunteer or work in projects in their own country or abroad that benefit communities and people around Europe.
The young people who participate in the European Solidarity Corps will all agree with and uphold its Mission and Principles.
You can register for the European Solidarity Corps when you are 17 years old, but you cannot start a project until you are over 18. European Solidarity Corps projects will be available to people up to the age of 30 years old.
After completing a simple registration process, European Solidarity Corps participants could be selected and invited to join a wide range of projects, such as helping to prevent natural disasters or rebuild afterwards, assisting in centres for asylum seekers, or addressing different social issues in communities.
Projects supported by the European Solidarity Corps can last from two to twelve months. They will usually be located within the European Union Member States.

Training and networking for youth workers

This activity supports the professional development of youth workers when they take part in:
-
seminars, training courses, contact-making events and study visits;
-
a job shadowing/observation period abroad in an organisation active in the youth field.

Who can apply?

Organisations active in the youth field can participate in a youth mobility project. Informal groups of young people are also eligible to apply for funding under this Key Action.
