The common home of words with Gianni Cascone

The workshop intends to bridge the abyss of ethnic distances and create an intercultural exchange through the use of writing. The participants, both local and immigrants, will be asked to share their imaginations and their respective styles of hospitality. Only by overcoming the surface of appearances and listening to human systems of symbolic production, are we convinced that it will be possible to overcome cultural differences, accepting them and giving rise to new mixtures and contaminations.

Gianni Cascone, writer from Bologna, is one of the founders of creative writing training in Italy and organizes workshops nationwide. Among his books the novels 1,2,3 beginning with the darkest dream, with images of the artist Frank Breidenbruch (Gli Ori, 2001) and Quadrante Nord (Manni 2004), the collection of short stories about places and travels L'orizzonte dello look, with a preface by M. Augé and an afterword by Franco Farinelli (Giraldi 2016) and the collections of poems La palude itself (Giraldi 2019), Haiku della peste (Giraldi 2020) and Haiku della peste II (Giraldi 2021).
